ECORBIT Privacy Policy

ECORBIT (hereinafter “the company”) establishes the following personal information processing guidelines to protect users’ personal information in accordance with Article 30 of the “Personal Information Protection Act” and to promptly and smoothly process related grievances.

1. Purposes of processing personal information

The company processes personal information for the following purposes. The processed personal information is not used for any purpose other than those specified below. Any changes to the purposes of use, such as obtaining additional consent, will be reflected by the measures required in accordance with Article 18 of the “Personal Information Protection Act”.

  • 1. Managing personal information from the community Q&A on the homepage
    • Personal information is collected to confirm the user’s identity, confirm an appeal, contact and notify the user for further investigation, and to notify the user of the result of the appeal process.
2. Processing and retention period of personal information
  • ① The company processes and retains personal information for the period provided by law or for the period to which the user has consented.
  • ② The period during which personal information is processed and retained is as follows:
    • 1. Homepage: 1 year after confirming the user’s identity and response, or until the following case is completed where applicable
      • 1) Until the investigation is complete if an investigation is in progress due to a legal violation
3. Providing personal information to a 3rd party
  • ① The company processes personal information only according to the scope specified by Clause 1 of the company privacy policy. Personal information is provided to a 3rd party only where consented by the user.
4. Rights and obligations of users and method of exercise
  • ① The user may exercise the right to inspect, correct, and delete personal information at any time.
  • ② The user may exercise the right stated in ① by contacting the company via written document, phone, email, or FAX in accordance with Article 41 (1) of the Personal Information Protection Act, and the company shall promptly take the necessary measures.
  • ③ The right stated in ① may be exercised by a legal representative or mandate. In this case, the user is required to submit a letter of delegation as specified in Form 11 of the Rule (No. 2020-7) from the Personal Information Protection Act.
  • ④ The right to inspect and suspend the processing of personal information may be limited under Article 35 (4) or Article 37 (2) of the Personal Information Protection Act.
  • ⑤ The user cannot request correction or deletion of personal information if the relevant personal information is subject to collection under any statute
  • ⑥ The company will verify whether the person requesting to inspect, correct, delete, or suspend the processing of personal information is the personal information subject or a legitimate representative.
5. Personal information processed

The company processes the following personal information:

  • 1. Personal information managed from the homepage Community Q&A forum
    • - Required fields: Name, contact information, email address
  • 2. The following information may be automatically created and collected using the internet service.
    • - IP address, cookies, MAC address, service usage history, visit history, and abusive usage history
6. Deletion of personal information
  • ① The company promptly deletes personal information when the retention period or the purpose of processing is completed or when the personal information is no longer needed.
  • ② Personal information is deleted by the following procedure:
    • 1. Deletion procedure
      • The company selects personal information with a reason for deletion, and it is deleted following approval from the company’s privacy policy manager.
    • 2. Deletion method
      • The company deletes personal information recorded and saved electronically to prevent the record from being reproduced, and information recorded and saved in paper form is shredded with a shredder or incinerated.
7. Measures to ensure the safety of personal information

The company takes the following measures to secure personal information.

  • 1. Management measures: Establish internal management plans, regular staff training, etc.
  • 2. Technical measures: Manage administrative access to the personal information management system, install access control system, encrypt unique identification information, install security programs
  • 3. Physical measures: Control access to computer room and data storage room
8. Installation, operation, and refusal of devices to automatically collect and store personal information
  • ① The company uses cookies that collect and load personal information to provide customized services to the user.
  • ② An HTTP cookie is a small piece of data that the server uses to operate the website, and is sent to the web browser and may be stored on the user’s hard drive.
    • A. Purpose of cookie usage: Cookies are used to identify services and websites visited and used by the user, popular words searched, and status of secure connection to provide information optimized to the user.
    • B. Installation, management, and refusal of cookies: The user may refuse cookie storage in the web browser settings through Tools>Internet Options>Personal Information.
    • C. The user may experience difficulties in using customized services if storage of cookies is refused.
9. Manager of personal information
  • ① The company is responsible for the overall processes related to personal information. The following manager is appointed to process complaints and claims related to personal information processing.
  • ② The user may submit any inquiry, complaint, or claim that arises while using company services or business to the personal information protection manager and the coordinating department. The company will promptly respond and process the user’s inquiry.
10. Request to inspect personal information

The user may make a request for viewing of personal information to the following department pursuant to Article 35 of the Personal Information Protection Act. The company shall ensure that the request is promptly processed.

11. Assistance regarding violation of rights and interests

The user may resolve a dispute and receive counseling at the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee of the Personal Information Infringement Reporting Center, etc. in the Korea Internet and Security Agency. Please contact the following agency to report or receive counseling on privacy breaches.
