ECORBIT, the nation's largest comprehensive environmental company, announced on the 5th that it has started building a research institute in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
ECORBIT is a comprehensive environmental company with 25 subsidiaries in the fields of water treatment, landfill, and incineration.
ECORBIT'S research institute is located in the general industrial complex in Magok-dong and has 5 floors above ground and 4 floors below ground (total area of 13,084㎡ and about 3,900 pyeong).
Research facilities, laboratories, and offices, including pilot plants to be tested before introducing new construction methods or technologies to the main facility, will be deployed.
The new laboratory building, including the rooftop garden and the second to fifth floors above the ground, has been placed in an eco-step manner in an outdoor green space that connects indoors and outdoors, saving the image of circulation and eco-friendly feeling.
It is designed to secure bright lighting and open views while increasing energy efficiency by adopting a triple-roy glass curtain wall and a vertical louver that controls sunlight in the front of the building.
"ECORBIT'S new research institute is a building that contains its ambition to strengthen environmental technology capabilities and its vision to create a future environment with a virtuous cycle," an ECORBIT official said. "ECORBIT will take the lead in environmental technology research and development so that future generations can enjoy a clean environment."
